Fact week😆

Giraffen är världens högsta djur. En vuxen hane kan bli upp till 5,8 meter. Den känns igen på den extremt långa halsen, långa benen och fläckiga pälsen. Varje giraff har ett unikt fläckmönster, lite som ett fingeravtryck, som också hjälper till att kamouflera den i savannens skugga.

Trots den långa halsen har giraffen bara 7 halskotor, precis som vi. Ett jättestort hjärta pumpar blod upp till hjärnan, och specialventiler hindrar den från att bli yr när den böjer sig för att dricka.

Giraffer lever i Afrikas savanner och äter främst akacielöv. Med sin 50 cm långa, gripbara tunga rensar den bort törnen. De är sociala, lever i lösa flockar och kommunicerar med djupa brummande ljud.
