The World Environmental Day occurs on the 5th June every year. It encourages awareness and action to the protection of our environment.
In order to pay tribute to the people of Same who had to leave their homes after a big flooding , the public assembly was held on their new settlement. Kilimanjaro Regional Commissioner Hon. Anna Mghwira and Bishop Dr. Fredrick Shoo attended this assembly and set an example by planting trees. More trees are currently being planted. We need more trees in order to fight against climate change.
