Although you can encounter them laying down to rest, most of the time it is standing even when sleeping. Though, it never sleeps for more than 5 continuous minutes. All in all, adult giraffes get by on just 30 minutes of sleep a night. It's the shortest sleep requirement in the entire animal Kingdom!
