Congratulations Corina & Jochen .They all made it to the Roof of Africa – well done on this great achievement! 🔝👏 Thank you to our amazing crew for taking them up and safely back down again!

ℹ️ The summit attempt starts around mid-night, while the ground is still frozen, to reach Uhuru Peak by sunrise. By torchlight, climbers make their way through the night and to Gillman’s Point (5,715m) on the crater’s edge. From here the last stretch takes them to the highest point Uhuru Peak. Enjoying the first sunlight along the way and the celebratory moment at the top, climbers and guides make their way back to Kibo Hut for breakfast and a short rest before descending further to Horombo Hut.

Another great day on the highest mountain in Africa ⛰️ 🌤️ With a bit of luck, Stephan & Alex can enjoy beautiful views along the way today, making the daily hike a little easier.

ℹ️ The scenery becomes more barren with occasional rock formations. On their way to Mawenzi Hut, climbers and crew can again enjoy views across the Kenyan savannah and Mawenzi summit. If the weather permits, they can even catch sight of Kibo. After 3 to 4 hours, today’s destination is the beautiful Mawenzi Tarn Hut Camp.

Our Guests Corina & Jochen are getting closer to the summit 🥾 🔝 Covering an ascend of 390m today, they reach Kibo Hut basecamp where they will prepare for tonight’s summit attempt. We wish you good luck and a safe summit! 💪 🙌

ℹ️ A lack of vegetation is characteristic for the landscape here as only a few types of grass and other plant species can survive in this dry area and thin air. Crossing the Kibo Saddle, climbers and guide reach Kibo Hut after about 4 to 6 hours. After an extensive briefing with their head guide, guests and crew will try to get some sleep in the early evening hours before starting the summit attempt around mid-night.

ℹ️ After breakfast climbers are driven to the north-western side of Mt Kilimanjaro where they begin their climb passing mountain farmers’ fields and hiking through a pine forest. With a bit of luck, they can see Colobus Monkeys in the mountain forest zone. After 3 to 4 hours, they reach Simba Camp where they spend their first night on Mt Kilimanjaro.

It’s time for our guests to continue the trail onwards and upwards! so together with guides and crew, Our guests make their way to Shira Camp 2 today 🌿🥾

ℹ️ A narrow trail leads climbers through the rainforest as vegetation is getting scarcer. Walking through moorland, passing lobelia and erica plants, they finally continue through rolling hills until they reach Shira Camp 1 after about 4 to 5 hours. After a restful lunch break, climbers and crew continue for another 3 hours to Shira 2 Camp, their camp for the night. If the weather permits, you have views across the Shira Plateau and of the Kibo summit along the way.

ℹ️ After enjoying a picknick lunch at the edge of the rainforest, our guests start their 2-3 hour walk along a gentle trail. The mountain welcomes them with its lush indigenous scenery and with a bit of luck, guests can even see Colobus Monkeys in the trees. After a short hike, crew and climbers arrive at Big Tree Camp where they spend their first night on Mt Kilimanjaro.
