Congratulations Inacio, he made it to the Roof of Africa ,Uhuru Peak (5,895m). Well done on this great achievement! 🔝👏

Thank you to our amazing crew for taking him up and safely back down again!

ℹ️ The summit attempt starts around mid-night, while the ground is still frozen, to reach Uhuru Peak by sunrise. By torchlight, climbers make their way through the night and to Stella Point (5,730m) on the crater rim. From here the last stretch takes them to the highest point Uhuru Peak. Enjoying the first sunlight along the way and the celebratory moment at the top, climbers and guides make their way back to Barafu Camp for breakfast and a short rest before descending further to Mweka Camp.

Day 3: Shira Camp 2 (3,900 m) to Lava Tower (4,640m) to Barranco Camp (3,960 m)

Our Guest Inacio had another great day on the highest mountain in Africa ⛰️ 🌤️ Today’s acclimatisation hike ended at one of the most beautiful camps on Kilimanjaro, Barranco Camp.

ℹ️ Today’s focus is acclimatisation: Following the “climb high, sleep low” maxim, our climbers slowly expose their bodies to the higher altitude, increasing their chances for a successful summit. Over the 6-to-7-hour hike, vegetation changes to an alpine desert towards Lava Tower and takes our guests through the Barranco Valley with its lobelia and senecio plants.

Day 3: Shira Camp 1 (3,500 m) to Shira Camp 2 (3,900 m)

It’s been a less strenuous day on Mt Kilimanjaro for our guests and their crew. After a beautiful day crossing Shira Ridge, they enjoyed a hearty dinner at Shira Camp 2 🏕️

ℹ️ A more leisurely hike awaits climbers when crossing Shira Ridge on this leg of their Kili ascent. The trail takes them on a 3-to-4-hour hike across flatter terrain with rocky grounds and low grasses and shrubs. You can enjoy views of the Great Rift Valley and Mount Meru if the weather permits.
