They can smell/sense where and when it's going to rain, so they move en masse in that direction for water and green grass. They move in an "s" pattern, so that they can see if any of the herd are alert to danger.

We are half way, just arrived in Amsterdam. The airport is stunning, high tech, glossy, very very modern. I’m kind of in culture shock after Dar es Salam, where we waited in the outside concrete old holding area. We have 5 hours here, then home!

Farewell Africa! Tanzania, Serengeti, Zanzibar. It’s been such a wonderful experience. Can’t wait to see everyone at home soon! We have 30 hours of travelling ahead of us, boarding a plane soon to Dar Es Salam, then on to Amsterdam with a 5 hr layover, then Vancouver. See y’all soon!!! Xoxo
