Traveling abroad is exciting, inspiring, and often life-changing. But it also comes with responsibilities that many travelers don’t always think about.
Under the Swiss Abroad Act (2014), Swiss citizens traveling abroad are primarily responsible for organizing their own return during a crisis. Airlines, travel agencies, and travel insurance are usually the first line of support, while embassies mainly provide coordination and information.
Government evacuations can happen in extreme situations, but they are not automatic — and travelers may be required to reimburse the cost.
So when planning your next trip to Dubai, Tanzania, or anywhere in the world, it’s always wise to travel informed, prepared, and properly insured.
Because the best journeys are the ones where adventure meets responsibility.
And remember — in Switzerland, if citizens disagree with laws like this, they always have the democratic power to challenge them through a referendum.

Due to the ongoing heavy rains in various parts of the country, the Tanzania National Parks (TANAPA) informs the public, especially all drivers traveling within Serengeti National Park and other conservation areas, to drive with caution in order to avoid accidents that may result from the rains.

Additionally, if you experience any challenges, please immediately contact park management for further assistance. TANAPA continues to take various measures to improve infrastructure, especially during this rainy season.

The Authority apologizes for any inconvenience caused by these rains.
