1. Lions have rapidly decreased in population by 95% only leaving a population of 20,000 Lions worldwide of which 40% of these lions are in Tanzania.
2. Only 1 in 8 cubs makes it to adulthood.
3. A lion’s roar can reach up to 114 decibels twice the normal human hearing capability. it can also be heard 8 kilometers from the roaring point equivalent to 5 miles.
4. Lions see 8 times better than human beings during the night with the help of the moon and starlight.
5. In short sprints Lions can run up to 80km/h an average speed of a car in a highway. They can't keep this for long as they lack stamina.
6. Lions weigh about 3 times the average human, but can jump 3 times higher than humans. Their vertical leap is up to 12 feet, 3.7 meters.
7. Female lions sleep an average of 15-18 hours a day while male lions sleep up to 20 hours a day.
