Here is a throwback to where it all began…
Five years ago, I was a newly single mother of three—with no job, no followers, just a heart full of pain, hope, and determination. This banda (a shelter) became my escape and my beginning. I poured every ounce of my energy, hurt, and passion into creating something meaningful.
I still remember the day I shared the idea with my mom. She was worried—concerned that I wasn’t looking for a “proper” job—but she didn’t shut me down. Her quiet support, along with my dad’s, gave me the strength to keep going.
Sometimes people just need someone to believe in them. So be kind. You never know the storm someone is walking through—or the dream they’re trying to build from it.
And so this was the beginning of Mamas of Zanzibar by Maskat.
