Zanzibar is a semi-autonomous region of Tanzania, made up of two main islands (Unguja and Pemba plus several smaller islands )
Here’s the simple breakdown:
• It’s part of Tanzania, not a separate country.
• It has its own president, its own government, and its own House of representatives for internal affairs.
• Mainland Tanzania ( Tanganyika ) and Zanzibar together form the United Republic of Tanzania.
• Culturally, it’s known for Swahili heritage, spices, and beaches
