An unforgettable full day excursion on board a traditional Arab dhow. The dhow explores Menai Bay, a beautiful conservation area, cobalt blue waters and past the inhabited islands and sandbanks. The excursion includes snorkeling where you can view the marine life and corals of Menai Bay, relax in the sandbank and a delicious Zanzibari seafood lunch beneath the shade of tree on the deserted island of Kwale. There will be time for a pleasant walk along the shore or sunbathing. After we will visit the mangroves and the centennial Baobad tree which is on the island. When returning the journey will be by sail (if the wind permits).

Situated on the southern point of the island, Kizimkazi fishing village is home to several schools of dolphins which can often be sighted following a boat trip from the village. If you are lucky, you may be able to swim quite close to the dolphins which can be a very rewarding experience.

The Jozani Natural Forest Reserve is located in the central east region of Zanzibar island, just 20 km from Jambiani and is home to the rare Red Colobus Monkey, which is endemic to Zanzibar. These monkeys are full of character, and roam freely. They can also be seen at very close quarters just outside the reserve’s perimeter and are incredibly photogenic. Jozani is home to other species including Syke’s monkey’s, small buck and bushpigs.

Stone Town is the old city and cultural heart of Zanzibar, little changed in the last 200 years. It is a place of bazaars, mosques and grand Arab houses with their carved wooden doors.The tour takes you through fabled Stone Town, where history appears to stand still. With visits to the Old Market, the House of Wonders, the Palace Museum (People’s Palace), Dr. Livingstone’s House, the Slave Market and the Arab Fort amongst others.

Zanzibar is well known as Spice Island, the history of Zanzibar would be incomplete without the cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, pepper and many other spices which brought the Sultans of Oman and the beginnings of the infamous slave trade. We will visit all spices and test them to gather with seasonal fruit. A description is given about a variety of spices, organically, herbs and their traditional in cooking and medicine cosmetics. You will be fascinated by the sheer number of spices produced and their incredible value for many ailments.

Once the site of a gaol for misbehaving slaves, the island lies just off the old stone town. Mnemba is about 3km off Zanzibar’s north-east coast. Encircled by a large coral reef. The island is home to a luxury lodge and is only available to guests. Many of the sites surrounding the island are colourful and thriving, making for fun snorkeling at any time of year. Expect to selion fish, moray eels, stingrays and many king of fish also we could see turtles swimming around in the shallows as well as humpback dolphins while you are sailing to the island.
