🤔 When Chernobyl will be suitable for life?

Modern exclusion zone still has omnipresent ionizing radiation. After 1986 CHNPP explosion vast territories were covered by incredibly dangerous transuranium elements. Half-life of those elements is counted in thousands of years, so we can't yet talk about permanent inhabitation of the exclusion zone.

Nevertheless, some sections of 30-kilometer zone are ready for agricultural and industrial activities. Ukrainian government already approved a number of projects including building new power plants and creating radioecological nature reserve. Various communities and local administrations want to get some land to start economical development.

Right now, approximately 130 people illegally live in the exclusion zone - mostly those who, despite the ban, returned to their homes after the accident. Moreover, about 6 thousand people permanently work in Chernobyl.

Современная зона отчуждения – вездесущий радиационный фон, превышающий норму в сотни раз. В результате взрыва на ЧАЭС в 1986 году, на значительные территории распространились трансурановые элементы, которые вместе с ураном, америцием несут большую опасность для человека. Период их полураспада исчисляется тысячами лет, поэтому о постоянной жизни в Чернобыльской зоне речь пока не идет.

Тем не менее, уже сейчас, отдельные участки 30-киллометровой зоны готовы к сельскохозяйственной и промышленной деятельности. На уровне правительства Украины согласовано ряд проектов по строительству объектов генерации энергии, в ближайших планах – также создание радиоэкологического заповедника. Различные общины и местные администрации желают получить земли, чтобы начать экономическое развитие.

В настоящее время в зоне отчуждения живет около 130 человек – самоселов, которые, несмотря на запрет, вернулись в свои дома после аварии. Кроме того, в Чернобыле постоянно работает около 6 тысяч человек.

WHO SAVED THE WORLD▪️

Chernobyl firefighters were among the first to start the fight against the Chernobyl accident. On the left of the fire station is a small exhibition of equipment that took part in the aftermath of the accident.
Monument to firefighters stands at the central entrance to the fire station.
The liquidators raised the money for it by themselves. The monument is made of ordinary reinforced concrete and painted with gray paint. The figures have real prototypes - people who sacrificed their health and life.

Чернобыльские пожарные одними из первых начали борьбу с аварией на ЧАЭС. Слева от пожарной части находится небольшая выставка техники, принимавшей участие в ликвидации последствий аварии. Памятник пожарным стоит у центрального въезда в часть.
Деньги на него собирали сами ликвидаторы, монумент выполнен из обычного железобетона и выкрашен серой краской. У фигур есть реальные прототипы — люди, которые пожертвовали своим здоровьем и жизнью.

😞The explosion at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant entailed devastating consequences. A large number of various equipment took part in the liquidation of the accident.

⚙️Technology came to the aid people where without it it was impossible to cope. Now in the city of Chernobyl in the open air, there is a small museum of the very equipment that took part in the liquidation operation. You can find the museum near the fire station.

🌡Many machines have been disposed of for a long time since after working at high levels of radiation, such equipment of those times cannot be used.

◾️You cannot visit the zone before reaching the 18 years old🔞
◾️Visiting the zone is only possible with organized tours and accompanied by competent staff provided by the travel agency Chernobyl Sphera Tour
◾️You need a passport. It's required to pass the checkpoint.
◾️Using alcohol and drugs, as well as staying in the state of their exposure is FORBIDDEN.
◾️Wear the most comfortable and CLOSED clothes and shoes that you are used to use for outdoor activities.
