Irasu Volcano is the highest volcano in Costa Rica, with a summit at 3,432 meters. It is an active volcano in the Cordilleras. In Indian, "Irasu" means "thunder mountain. In shape, it is a stratovolcano, which belongs to the volcanic belt of Central America. The largest crater is more than 1 km in diameter and 300 meters deep. On a clear day, the highest point of Irasu overlooks the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans, which bathe Costa Rica's shores.

The beach is located in the southern part of the Nicoya Peninsula. This is one of the natural attractions of Costa Rica. The atmosphere of a tropical paradise from advertising posters seems to have come down from the pictures to the ground in this place. White sandy beaches are called the pearl of Costa Rica, and this is true.

The sand here is pleasantly white. It has exceptionally small fractions, so it is not for nothing that it is called silk. The water on the coast is very clean, this is carefully monitored by local services. Many tourists with children tend to this beach, since the coast is sloping, and the shallow water here extends far inland.

Lake Arenal
Echoing the gurgle of Tabacon's thermal springs, drowning out the rustle of lush tropical vegetation, thunder rumbles in the distance. For those unfamiliar with the area, it may sound like a harbinger of an approaching thunderstorm, but in reality it is the sound of the nearby Arenal volcano erupting in the north central region of Costa Rica, just outside the hospitable town of La Fortuna.

Hotel Airplane is a real Boeing 727 that is located in Costa Rica, near Manuel Antonio National Park, and is no longer flying. The plane, made in 1965, serves as the Costa Verde Hotel suite and attracts travelers who appreciate originality. Boeing was formerly part of the South Africa Air flotilla and the Colombian airline Avianca. In 1990 it was decommissioned and abandoned at San Jose International Airport for a long time. In late 2005, hotel owners became interested in it, moved it piece by piece and converted it into a luxury suite.

The native population on the territory of modern Costa Rica has never been numerous, which is partly due to the wide distribution of dense, impenetrable rainforests and the mountainous nature of the relief of most of the country. This factor also largely determined the composition of the settlers from Spain (mainly from the Galicia region). The majority of the settlers were poor peasants who had gone across the ocean in search of a better life and free fertile land, but who found in their new homeland hard-to-grasp forests and even harder work. Due to natural conditions, small number of aboriginal population (inaccessibility of cheap labor), poverty of settlers, the development of the territory of Costa Rica was slow, mainly in the most favorable areas of the inner volcanic plateaus with rich soils and good climate.
