5,500-Year-Old Sumerian Star Map.
“For over 150 years scientists have tried to solve the mystery of a controversial cuneiform clay tablet that indicates the so-called Köfel’s impact event was observed in ancient times. The circular stone-cast tablet was recovered from the 650 BC underground library of King Ashurbanipal in Nineveh, Iraq in the late 19th century. Long thought to be an Assyrian tablet, computer analysis has matched it with the sky above Mesopotamia in 3300 BC and proves it to be of much more ancient Sumerian origin. The tablet is an “Astrolabe,” the earliest known astronomical instrument. It consists of a segmented, disk-shaped star chart with marked units of angle measure inscribed upon the rim.”

Prayer sessions can happen frequently, and if you find that you’ve arrived at someone’s home during a prayer, wait outside until the invocation is finished. If you’re inside their home at the time the prayer’s set to take place, you’ll be expected to take part in the service as well.

Like the Kuranda Rainforest, Daintree is another tropical rainforest of Far North, Queensland. The Daintree Rainforest is more intact than the Kuranda.

Daintree Rainforest is the oldest surviving tropical rainforest in the world. It’s over 130 million years old, and it shows. It is the most biodiverse ecosystem in Australia. It’s home to many endemic species. Many of the species that live there show primitive characteristics.
Many of these primitive species are plants. Daintree Rainforest has primitive flowering plants, ferns, conifers, and more. Scientists had known some of the plant types only by fossils before the plants were discovered in the rainforest.
One of the best things about the Daintree Rainforest is that its coastline borders the Great Barrier Reef. The coastline of Daintree is a magical place with miles of sandy beaches surrounded by rainforest on one side and coral reefs on another. The unusual combination of coral and rainforest is a sight to behold.

In the minds of most people, Mexico is usually seen as a beach resort destination or a corrupt narco-state run by drug lords. However, the majority of people don’t know the facts about Mexico, its culture, and its people.

Their opinion is based on stereotypes and bad press. As a result, they’re scared to go to Mexico, but not many people actually know what is Mexico known for.

Here are 25 interesting things about Mexico – a country that I definitely recommend to both visit and live in.

Egypt is home to a wide variety of animals and plants, including cheetahs, hyenas, crocodiles and cobras. The best places to see Egypt’s wildlife are in its 21 protected regions, which include oases, deserts, mountains, coastal areas, river islands and wetlands.

Egyptians have always been close to the natural world. The ancient Egyptians left paintings and carvings (which can still be seen today!) of large animals like elephants, hippos, leopards and cheetahs. These animals were once common in Egypt, but they are now rare or extinct because of hunting and habitat loss.

Without the Nile River, all of Egypt would be desert. Only about an 2.5cm of rain falls throughout Egypt each year. But each summer, the Nile river rises because of rains at its source, far to the south in Ethiopia. When this happens, floods cover the river’s valleys, leaving sediments needed for trees, plants and crops to grow.

Egypt is often divided into two sections – Upper Egypt in the south and Lower Egypt in the north. The sections are named this way because the Nile flows from south to north. The river empties into the Mediterranean Sea, on the country’s north coast.

Southern Egypt’s landscape contains low mountains and desert. Northern Egypt has wide valleys near the Nile, and desert to the east and west. North of Cairo (Egypt’s capital city) is the sprawling, triangular Nile River Delta. This fertile land is completely covered with farms.
