St. Louis is the largest city in the Great Plains of the United States in the state of Missouri. Beer, bowling and basketball are the main attractions for tourists, but history and culture, much of which is associated with the Mississippi River, are an integral part of the big picture. And, of course, the famous Gateway Arch, which you have seen in numerous pictures; in reality it is an even more powerful sight. Many legendary musicians, including Scott Joplin, Chuck Berry, Tina Turner and Miles Davis, started here, and the venues keep their fire burning.
