Today is Ukrainian Independence Day! Independence that my people are now fighting for. We always took it for granted, but now as never we understand the value of freedom!

I'm thankful to all Ukrainian soldiers who are giving their lives and health for us to be able to say - Happy Independence Day! 🇺🇦

This is a post of love to chestnut tree.

As a Kyiv citizen I’m in eternal love with chestnut tree blossom. My city is full of it in May.

I never missed a season, even last year. But this time I’m away, and only can enjoy my old photos.

One year…

A year of infinite pain, unknown hate and all-embracing gratitude..

A year ago we woke up with horrible worlds: war has started!

This candle is for everyone who we lost in war. For Mariupol, Bucha, Izum, Bahmut… for every Ukrainian hero!

We’ll never forget 💔

February 21st is the International Tourist Guide Day. A year ago I celebrated this day with my colleagues - Kyiv guides.

I remember this day as yesterday. It was so nice to get together and distract ourselves from growing tension of possibility of invasion. After I came back home, read news and got scared. The next day I bought a ticket to my friend in Amsterdam and I’d flown out the country few hours before the invasion started.

War changed my life. It’s been so long since I had my last tour. I still keep thinking how happy I was to discover this job for myself. I never had any job that I was doing with such passion and love.

Some people suggested I should start doing tours in a new place. But for me it’s not just guiding. It’s about sharing love. Love to my city, culture and country…

Happy Tourist Guide Day to everyone who is working right now and to everyone who is waiting to get back to work.

Admire every Ukrainian tour guide who manages to keep doing what they love even in war.

Ukraine 💙💛

My independent county celebrates its Independence Day today. Now this holiday is important as never. At the time when the enemy wants to take our freedom.

Today is 6 months of the war, 6 months russia has been destroying our cities and torturing our people and for 6 months we have been fighting. We won’t give our country to anyone.

The photo was made last year during the trip to south of Ukraine, to the area that is now occupied.

I wish us freedom, victory and peace! 🇺🇦

Today is Day of Kyiv. We are celebrating it in war.

During its history, which is more than 1500 years, there were many wars but the city has always stayed strong and great!

❣️Vyshyvanka is an embroidery shirt. Though it is not just a shirt or a piece of traditional clothes. Vyshyvanka is an important part of our culture. It’s a unique genetic code of our nation, a sacred symbol of Ukraine, our unity, bravery and strength.

Vyshyvankas have deep meaning and for centuries were used by Ukrainians as guards and passed from generation to generation. Embroidered ornaments always meant something, for example some to attract love, wealth, health and to protect a person. Mine symbolizes femininity, love and harmony in marriage.

Wearing vyshyvanka in russian occupation was and can be dangerous. Those who did, showed big courage, underlining their identity. People could be arrested and sometimes even killed for that. You already know how russia always tried to destroy our nation. They couldn’t, we keep preserving our culture and still fight for the right to be Ukrainian. 🇺🇦

Today is the World Vyshyvanka Day, a holiday to unite us no matter where we are.

Proud to be Ukrainian. Proud to wear Vyshyvanka! Thankful to Ukrainian Army for being able to wear it freely. 💙💛

I went to Irpin.

The city tortured by russians and the one that together with others stopped invasion of Kyiv.

I decided that it was important to see what russia did to it with my own eyes. Though I saw just a small part of all what was there after russian soldiers left. Now the city is cleaned, demined, bodies of civilians are buried on the cemetery and traces of war are partly hidden behind greenery of the spring.

Still, it’s a place where you can feel the horror of the war looking at destroyed houses and burnt buildings, imagining that someone had their lives there, maybe was inside at the moment of fire. People lived and loved in these houses, collected memories putting photos on the walls, played with children and pets. Now nothing of that is left.

Now there is the smell of burning in the air, mixed with the smell of pine, which was always in Irpin.

I felt hate, again this hate to russians for doing this to us, for destroying our beautiful, peaceful cities.

At the same time the feeling of gratitude to Ukrainians who are very hard-working nation and start to repair everything right away. People come back to clean up their houses, backyards, clear rubbles, come back and fix deeds of our idiotic neighbor.

It’s incredible how for a bit more than a month the city has been restored: a railway bridge was renovated and the road across the river was constructed right next to the bridge that was destroyed; water and electricity are renewed; roads are fixed; the grass is mowed, flowers are taken care of and parks look beautiful as always before. The city is recovering, hopefully someday it will be as great as it was. Though you’ll never recover lost lives.
