💙St. Andrew’s Descent is one of the ancient routes connecting the Upper City with the Trade Podil. Now Andrew’s Descent is a street-museum, one of the main tourist attractions in Kyiv. Many famous figures of science and culture lived and worked here: scientists, writers, composers, artists, sculptors.
💙Gradually, Kiev artists occupied the street, creating an open-air gallery. People come here to listen to street musicians and watch a costumed performance. There are art galleries, exhibitions, theaters and art workshops along the street. There are many souvenir shops in the open air.
💙On the street there is the “One Street Museum”, the Museum of the Writer Mikhail Bulgakov (House of the Turbins) and the memorial “House Museum Kavaleridze”.

💙Андріївський узвіз - одна зі старовинних вулиць, що з’єднує Верхнє місто з торговим Подолом. Зараз Андріївський узвіз - це вулиця-музей, одна з головних туристичних пам'яток Києва. Тут жили і працювали багато відомих діячів науки і культури: вчені, письменники, композитори, художники, скульптори.
💙Поступово київські художники обжили вулицю, створивши галерею під відкритим небом. Сюди приходять послухати вуличних музикантів і подивитися костюмовані вистави. Уздовж вулиці працюють художні галереї, виставки, театри і художні майстерні. Під відкритим небом розташовані численні сувенірні лавки.
💙На вулиці знаходиться «Музей однієї вулиці», Музей письменника Михайла Булгакова (Будинок Турбіних), меморіальний «будинок-музей Кавалерідзе».

This weekend, on Kyiv Day a new pedestrian bridge opens in the city! 🤩The bridge connects two tourist routes - Khreschaty Park and Volodymyr's Hill. The bridge is 210 meters long, width from 6 to 14 meters, the observation decks of the bridge are equipped with glass floors. The building will be exclusively for pedestrians and cyclists.

У День Києва, на цих вихідних, в столиці відкриється новий пішохідний міст, який з'єднує дві туристичні маршрути - Парк Хрещатий і Володимирську гірку. 🤩 Міст довжиною 210 метрів, шириною від 6 до 14 метрів, оглядові майданчики моста обладнані скляною підлогою. Спорудження буде призначено винятково для пішоходів і велосипедистів.

🔸Saint Sophia Cathedral is one of the city's best known landmarks and the first heritage site in Ukraine to be inscribed on the World Heritage List along with the Kiev Cave Monastery complex.

🔸St. Sophia Cathedral in Kiev is the oldest surviving monument. There are still discussions about the true age of Sophia, but it was approved at the official level: it was created by Prince Vladimir in 1011, which means that she has already turned more than 1000 years old this year!

🔸The bell tower of St. Sophia Cathedral was built by Hetman Ivan Mazepa. Its height reaches 76 meters, and it still holds a large bell "Mazepa" weighing 13 tons and a height of 1.25 meters, which was cast in the distant 1705 by order and at the expense of the hetman.

🔸St. Sophia Cathedral - a storehouse of frescoes and mosaics of the XI century! The murals here cover 3 thousand square meters, and mosaic - 260 square meters.

🔹Софійський собор є одним з найвідоміших визначних пам'яток міста, а також першою спадщиною в Україні, включеною до списку Всесвітньої спадщини, разом з комплексом «Київський печерний монастир».

🔹Софійський собор у Києві є найдавнішим збереженим пам'ятником. Йдуть дискусії про справжній вік Софії, але він був затверджений на офіційному рівні: собор був створений князем Володимиром у 1011 році, а це означає, що йому вже понад 1000 років!

🔹Дзвіницю Софійського собору збудував гетьман Іван Мазепа. Його висота сягає 76 метрів, і до цих пір утримується великі дзвони вагою 13 тонн і висотою 1,25 метра, які були зроблені у далекому 1705 році на замовлення і за рахунок гетьмана.

🔹Софійський собор - сховище фресок і мозаїк XI століття! Фрески тут охоплюють 3 тисячі квадратних метрів, а мозаїка - 260 квадратних метрів.

It’s all about St. Vladimir's Cathedral! 🔸St. Vladimir's Cathedral is known primarily for the paintings of famous artists - Vasnetsov, Nesterov, Vrubel.
🔸The location is very convenient, almost in the city center, near the metro University and the Botanical Garden.
🔸The painting inside the cathedral is impressive. It is also noteworthy that not only the faces of saints are depicted on the walls of the church, but also historical plots, such as “The Baptism of Prince Vladimir” and “The Baptism of kyivites”, as well as portraits of historical figures: Alexander Nevsky, Andrey Bogolyubsky, Princess Olga.
🔸Photography is permitted for a small fee of 50 UAH.

🔹Володимирський собор знаменитий перш за все живописом відомих художників - Васнецова, Нестерова, Врубеля.
🔹Розташування храма дуже зручне, майже в центрі міста, недалеко від метро Університет та Ботанічного саду.
🔹Інтер’єр всередині собору вражає. На стінах церкви зображені не тільки обличчя святих, але й історичні сюжети, такі як «Хрещення князя Володимира» і «Хрещення киян», а також портрети історичних діячів: Олександр Невський, Андрій Боголюбський, княгиня Ольга.
🔹Фотографувати можна за невелику плату в розмірі 50 грн.
