The original screenplay for the Fantastic Four reboot (2015) featured Annihilus and Mole Man as central villains, 60-foot genetically-engineered monster attacking New York City, “a Saving Private Ryan-style finale” set in in war-torn Latveria against an army of Doombots, and Galactus and the Silver Surfer destroying an entire planet in a post-credits scene. These ideas were scrapped to keep costs down.

During Victorian times, some wealthy families sent away a family member (typically the Black Sheep) and paid them to stay away. Known as Remittance men, they were usually sent to a colony, far away from everyone else they knew. Even some women were sent away by their families.

Guillaume de Volpiano, a very famous man, was appointed architect. He was brought up by Benedictine monks and had built more than one monastery. But the structure was a unique construction: it could not be extended horizontally, so the emphasis was put on vertical construction. Some rooms overhang the rock on special platforms. It was not easy to deliver granite from the neighboring islands for the construction. The absence of roads, quicksand, high tides and high tides all interfered with the construction.

The history of Mont Saint-Michel dates back to 708. The Benedictine monks were fascinated by the granite island of Mont-Tomb, so they decided to build a chapel on the cliff. The name is associated with a medieval legend: the bishop was commanded to erect a church by the Archangel Michael. He came three times, but the clergyman doubted the validity of the sign. Then the Archangel knocked the bishop on the head with his finger, and only then did construction begin.

At high tide, the place becomes an island that is almost completely cut off from the mainland. Only the causeway built at the end of the nineteenth century retains its connection with the abbey. At low tide, the water recedes and the area of Mont Saint-Michel becomes an ordinary part of the mainland. The walls, cliff and abbey buildings create a coherent impression. The height from mean sea level to the top of the spire of the church is 170 meters.
