Views from a recent self-drive tour in Uganda!

From mama gorillas sharing a snack with newborns to warm moments with local communities, our guests had a very full trip (and you can see the rest of it on our YouTube channel if you'd like!). You've likely heard a lot of different opinions on what self-drive in Uganda is like, so we hope this video helps you see past the rumors and a bit more to the reality.

Uganda as seen through our guest's eyes! Marianne recently spent several weeks traveling with us, then sent over these beautiful photos and collages soon after. June in Uganda. A few photos from our most recent trip by our talented guide, Ivan.

June is the start of the dry season, and while there truly isn't a large difference here in Uganda between the dry season and the green season, this continues to be one of the most popular months to visit... And you can see why. With animals gathering below awesome clear, blue skies, it's easy to just get lost in the moment and let time pass without a worry.

Here's one of the reasons we love the green season in Uganda: the green! In May, we are transitioning toward the drier seasons, but the grass is still long and the landscape lush. Our guide Ivan grabbed these pictures of big cats enjoying the long grass from our trip a week ago through Queen Elizabeth National Park. Plus, you can't swing by Queen Elizabeth without seeing the tree-climbing lions in Ishasha.

For those curious, Uganda and East Africa, the weather is much more consistent than in other safari destinations. The dry season isn't completely dry and gets some drizzles, while the green season is more about afternoon rains than all-day downpours.
