Job Description - Tourism Marketing Manager
General Description:
The Marketing Manager is responsible for developing marketing plans and implementing marketing strategies for the company. You will be in charge of conducting market analysis, segmentation, and positioning, and will be developing communication strategies, and implementing various marketing programs across the company and the various divisions.
The Tourism Marketing Manager is responsible for executing the above, by marketing Zuula Uganda to entire word in collaboration with key tourism partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Work cooperatively with local, regional and provincial tourism stakeholders,
Promoting and marketing the business to new or niche markets
Managing budgets and maintaining statistical and financial records
Selling travel products and tour packages in regard with leisure & holidays
Sourcing products and destinations to meet consumer demands for Zuula Uganda
Must have destination knowledge across globe
Ability to understand customer requirements to customize itineraries for given destination
Understanding of flight sectors, hotel categories, currencies, things to do etc. destination wise
Ability to close bookings and Payment follow-ups
Developing and building cordial relationship with the present and prospective clients
Receiving inbound / outbound customer sales inquiries and providing quotations, providing product / service information, support and pricing details in response to inbound / outbound enquiries, promoting the features and benefits of the organizations product/services
Study competition, conduct benchmark analysis, an identify market trends. A good knowledge in market segmentation, targeting, and positioning is required
Develop marketing plans, including market analysis, marketing strategies, planning, and budgeting for the company and each of the different divisions
Develop advertising strategy, and media planning for the company and the various divisions
Develop various advertising material, and collateral material
Insure corporate identity is properly maintained across the company and various divisions, and make sure all guidelines are well implemented
Responsible for company PR, events, exhibitions and sponsorships
Responsible for all marketing programs at the corporate level: loyalty programs, incentives programs, acquisition programs and others
Develop, update and manage corporate website, and conduct online marketing activities to generate traffic
Develop joint marketing programs and activities with partners and suppliers, Conduct customer and market research, and analyze output to generate findings
Monitor and review all marketing activities, and assess all the results achieved
Outline services provided Zuula Uganda and identify tourism marketing, opportunities for Chamber members
Sell ad space, create content, and maintain a clean presentation for community tourism
Identify and design print advertising initiatives to market Zuula Uganda in relevant trade
Organize professional development workshops for Zuula Uganda Members when the opportunity arises
Attend external industry conferences
Participate on various community committees as relates to the Tourism Marketing position
Attend consumer travel shows to represent Zuula Uganda in key sectors and markets
Formulate and present proposals for unique marketing initiatives and secure funding
Support the Visitor as needed; regular shifts at front of house at visitor Centre and attend travel business community events
Manage the digital marketing budget, manage social media coordinator, create digital
Strategy and tactics for the year, blog writing, social media advertising, overseeing advertising agency performance and creating ads, making changes in creative
This person should/will be managing social accounts 3+ days a week.
• Recruit and host travel trade industry media as needed.
• Attend consumer shows as necessary.
Qualifications:
-Must have familiarity with computer programs such as computer programing skills in python language, WordPress, Microsoft Office, Photoshop, and InDesign.
-Must have experience in all facets of Digital Marketing.
2-5 years of experience preferably in selling / operating travel products and services, preferably including holiday packages
-Formal Tourism/Marketing, University, College education is an asset.
-Consideration will be given to those with minimum 1+ year tourism / marketing industry experience.
-The position demands excellent interpersonal and project management skills, organization, strong written and oral communication skills as well as a proven track record with marketing, advertising and design in all types of print and electronic mediums. Occasional travel is required for this position.
