Lake Mburo is Uganda’s quickest way into safari country.

A few hours out of Entebbe and you are already in with the giraffe giants, zebras in the grass, antelope on the move, and that lovely feeling that the city has fallen well behind you.

It is a soft, easy entry into wild Uganda — and a good way to settle into safari before the longer route southwest to Bwindi.

This one here is first day on a two weeks adventure into Uganda's wilderness with our guests from the USA and Prof

UGANDA'S BIG 8 WIN OVER AGENTS.

The traditional big five that visitors to Africa want to tick off includes lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo and leopard. Uganda’s unique additions are mountain gorilla, chimpanzee and the Ugandan people, whose smiles are as wide as the Rift Valley which lines the country’s western border.

Don’t let panic headlines plan your safari. Uganda is open, our office is working, guests are in our lodges, and safaris are running in the field as normal — with the vigilance this moment calls for. Follow official updates, not fear.

Ebola Update: You may have seen recent news about Ebola disease in DRC and Uganda. At Nkuringo Eco Collection & Safaris, our lodges are open, guests are in-house, and safaris are running as scheduled, with added public health vigilance.

Uganda is working normally. The main visible change so far is the postponement of the annual Uganda Martyrs’ Day celebrations at Namugongo, a careful precaution around a very large gathering.

Most of our guests are on private, guided safari routes rather than city-based travel. After arrival in Entebbe, they usually continue onward to their lodge or safari route by road transfer or domestic flight, with time focused on lodges, national parks, forest trails, ranger briefings, and guided wildlife areas.

We are monitoring WHO, CDC, Uganda health guidance, and major travel advisories closely. Booked guests will hear from us directly if anything changes for their stay or route.

There’s a kind of bliss safari brings out in you. It settles in slowly — somewhere between the morning drive, the dust on your shoes, the laughter in the car, and that quiet feeling that, for once, you are exactly where you need to be.

By the end of the day, you are tired in the best way, a little softer, a little lighter, and already wishing the drive was not over.

Wishing you a safe and bliss stay for a safari week.

"Take me to the jungle", she said. "I want to sit beside the mythical silverback and live to tell the tale."

So we booked them into , where they found a hidden heaven above the jungle they revered. We set out for the jungle Saturday morning and found her that moment she will live to tell.

You too can come with us some day. There's a link in our profile to help you get started.

People often notice the rifle first.

But on the walk, what stays with most guests is the person carrying it.

Calm. Friendly. Steady on the trail. Ready with a story when the climb eases and the group catches its breath.

That warmth matters, but so does the job behind it.

Rangers are there to help keep guests safe, protect wildlife, patrol against poaching and wildlife crime, and respond if the forest asks for more than a quiet walk.

So the rifle is not there to make the experience feel tense.

Tanya says "Firstly booking our trip to Uganda was so easy with the help of Moreen. She was extremely helpful and prompt with her reply emails. She was able to adjust our trip to suit our budget. Even with flight changes, she was able to change dates of the booked accommodation hassle free." She goes on in a TripAdvisor review.

For us, its not just about the experience on the ground. Right from the planning phase, we want you to collect the best memories because you deserve it.

Let’s take you on safari. Click link in our profile to talk to a specialist.

First look: Mirima Kibale Lodge.

Nkuringo Eco Collection has released the first images of the lodge’s exterior ahead of opening.

We are not sharing the interiors just yet — final finishing work is still underway — but outside, Mirima is already finding its place.

The trees have grown in, the gardens are coming alive, and the cottages already sit gently in the landscape, as if they belong there.

More from Mirima soon at nkuringoecocollection.com
