The 11th Karamoja Cultural Event is currently taking place in Moroto, Uganda, started from 6–12 September 2026, bringing together communities from across Karamoja and the wider Ateker region — including Uganda, Kenya, South Sudan and Ethiopia.
For an entire week, Moroto has become a meeting place for traditional elders, cultural performers, young people, women, artisans, community leaders and travellers, celebrating a heritage that has remained deeply rooted in this remarkable part of East Africa.
