Today in Uganda's history 🤗
📜 March 1, 1962 , Uganda achieved internal self governance, later that year, on October 9, 1962, Uganda officially gained independence from British rule, becoming a fully sovereign nation. The movement towards self-rule was driven by political parties like the Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) and the Democratic Party (DP), alongside key figures such as Milton Obote and Benedicto Kiwanuka.

March 1 remains a historic date in Uganda’s independence journey, marking the first major step toward self-determination and national identity.
