A gorilla trek requires a minimum of 3 Days to include travel to the park, the trek itself, and the return journey. The actual trek can take anywhere from 1 to 8 hours depending on the gorilla’s location and the terrain, but the entire experience, including time with the gorillas lasts about an hour once you find them.

Here is a look at a summary of 3 Days Gorilla Trek in Rwanda.

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience in Volcanoes National Park
Day 3: Departure.

The best time to see gorillas In Uganda and Rwanda

In my opinion, the best times to see gorillas in Rwanda & Uganda are during the dry (but hot) seasons between June-September, and December-February.

High / peak season: June-August.

Low season: April-May and September to November.

Best weather: Between June-September, and between December-February.

Did You Know? - Mountain Gorillas spend most of their time of the day eating.

Around 85% of their diet is made up of leaves, shoots and stems, but gorillas can also eat larvae, snails, ants, and even roots, barks and rotting wood (a good source of sodium/salt).

𝐑𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 Dr.𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐞 𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐥𝐥 - 𝟏𝟗𝟑𝟒 - 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 - scientist | conservationists | Humanitarian.

Born Valerie Jane Morris-Goodall, Jane was the eldest daughter of businessman and racing car driver Mortimer Herbert Morris-Goodall and writer Margaret Myfanwe Joseph.

Jane was passionate about wildlife from early childhood, and she read avidly about the natural world. Her dream was to travel to Africa, learn more about animals, and write books about them. Having worked as a waitress to save enough money for a sea passage to Kenya, Jane was advised to try to meet respected paleontologist Dr. Louis Leakey. Louis employed her as a secretary at the National Museum in Nairobi, and this led to her being offered the opportunity to spend time with Louis and Mary Leakey in at the Olduvai Gorge in search of fossils.

Mountain gorillas are only found in one area in the entire world and not even in zoos. Their habitat is located on the border of Uganda, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The DRC is not safe for tourism, so that leaves Rwanda or Uganda.

Both of these countries are great locations for gorilla trekking. However, Rwanda is more expensive than Uganda.
