Four critically endangered female eastern lowland gorillas rescued from the illegal wildlife trade have been reintroduced to the wild in Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
It is the largest-ever eastern lowland gorilla translocation and population reinforcement in Africa, increasing the number of gorillas living on Mt. Tshiaberimu in Virunga National Park from eight to twelve.

Quatre femelles gorilles des plaines de l’Est, en danger critique d’extinction et sauvées du trafic illégal d’espèces sauvages, ont été réintroduites dans la nature au sein du Parc National des Virunga, en République Démocratique du Congo.
