Hot Springs -kitagata

In uganda, there are several special natural features that are very rare in the world which make uganda a unique and blessed country. Uganda has 7 Narural host springs that makes you wonder the power and greatness of mother earth-Nature. Kitagata is one of the spectaular HOT springs found in western uganda first recorded 1904 however the locals who have stayed near the hot springs ever since called it KITAGATA meaning the warm well... Locals dont know how it occured however believe its a God given gift and is considered a secrade place where healing occured, sacrifices were done to apesae the Gods and one well was also preserved for kings. There are two hot springs adjacent to each other and according to the locals one of them was used by the former omugabe (king of Ankole) known as Ekyomugabe. The other spring is believed to have healing powers and was named Mulago after Uganda's largest national referral hospital.
People bathe in the waters of kitagata mulago were the water in the springs can warm up to 80 degrees celsius.Other people even drink the water .Kitagata Hot springs was formed as a results of tectonic plate movemnet during the formation of the western rift valley

Kisiizi falls and the Bakiga girls

In Bakiga culture a story is told of a pregnant girl who was taken to a cliff to be thrown because in bakiga culture girls were nit allowed to engage in premarital s*x. As the practice used to be the father and brother of the girl used to push the girl over the cliff to scare other girls from engaging in premarital s*x. When the brother pushed the girl she grabed her brothers hands togather with her father and all fell down the cliff where they all met thier death. This tragedy upset the elders and with the help of the New christian converts who preached forgiveness this act of horror was abandoned. Today this monument is erected at the kisiizi falls found in rukungiri on kyabuga river. The land of foe has since turned into a spectacular sight of history and magestic wonder for both fauna and flora...
