Happy Mashujaa day 🥳

Mashujaa wako kila mahali. 🇰🇪
Some wear uniforms, some carry binoculars, some fly aircraft, some care for wildlife and others work quietly behind the scenes.

This Mashujaa Day, we honour the brave men and women who contributed to Kenya’s struggle for independence and whose courage and sacrifice helped shape the nation we celebrate today.

We also celebrate the people who continue to show up every day to protect Kenya’s wildlife, care for our natural heritage and keep conservation moving forward; from our rangers and veterinary teams to our pilots, researchers, support teams, communities and the visitors who experience, appreciate and help champion our wild spaces.

To every hero, past and present, asante kwa kulinda na kujenga Kenya yetu. 🇰🇪

This is a waterbuck. 🐐🐾 They can be told apart from bushbucks by their larger size, shaggy grey-brown coat, & a distinct white ring around their rump. Meanwhile, bushbucks are smaller with white spots and stripes. 🤫😀
