The world is on slaught due to the deadly pandemic. Mother Africa is silent as a grave. Hopefully the situation will normalise and the African sound will rise again. We shall dance to the tune of the jungle calling.
The big game, apes & primates , falls and birds are waiting to bring back cute smiles to our faces again.

If Rolex isn't your favorite snack, probably you haven’t tasted one made by a musoga.
Every tribe in Uganda has a distinct type of food but Rolex brings us together for so many reasons mainly its combination of convinience, inexpensiveness and its re-inviting taste. Due to the rolex’s fame, the state minister for tourism Mr kiwanda Godfrey Ssubi once remarked that it was worthy of adding to the country’s list of tourist attractions and indeed every year the rolex is celebrated at lugogo cricket oval.
The rolex is less than a dollar on street and it is also available in all lodges around tourist attractions.
you will never get enough of it.

can you differentiate a chimpanzee from a gorilla? At Amea safaris we offer both gorilla and chimpanzee tracking packages.
Chimps normally stay in groups known as troops, of about 30 – 80 individuals. The large groups consist of smaller, very supple groups of fewer members, possibly all females, or all males or at times mixed.
The Chimps from time to time chew leaves to until they are absorbent and these they use as a sponge, by dipping them into water and then suck-out the moisture. In addition, the chimps use twigs or at times grass stems as tools, by poking these into termite holes or ant nests on which the insects cling and they eat; these are a delicacy to the chimps. They can cram nuts between roots of trees and then break open the shells using a stone. isn't this a human character?
Actually Chimps are arboreal as well as terrestrial, and spend most of their hours of daylight on the ground. The chimps are quadruped, so they walk fast on all their four limbs with their fingers half-flexed so as to support the great weight of the fore-quarters on their knuckles. They from time to time walk erect but only for very short distances.
Chimps are swift climbers and set up their nests high in trees and in there they rest during midday and later sleep in at night- fall. They build new nests in just minutes through simply bending branches, interweaving them to create a platform as well as lining the ends with twigs.
There isn’t a particular breeding season for chimps and the females give birth every four – five years.
Chimpanzees are diurnal (however frequently active on well moonlit nights) and start their activities at sunrise. On climbing down from their night-nests they excitedly feed on various fruits (which are their main diet), and leaves, seeds, buds, flowers as well as blossoms, although they have been spotted killing smaller monkeys. After some time, their feeding turns out to be choosier, them picking out just the ripest fruits. They typically pick fruit using their hands, although they eat at berries plus seeds directly using their lips off the stems. Their diet comprises of close to 80 diverse plant foods. These Chimps supplement their feed with meats, like young antelopes or even goats. However their most common victims are other primate species like young baboons, blue monkeys as well as colobus monkeys.
when you track chimps, you will see a world different from the one you know and you will have a lot to write and talk about.

The batwa are one of the last groups of short statured people who lived a hunter gatherer life style in Bwindi before 1991 when the creation of conservation areas outlawed all human activity in the virungas and Bwindi.
If you were complaining about your height keep your peace. Batwa are really short , an adult rises to an average of 4ft or less in height. The tallest mutwa can be the shortest among the neighbouring communities.
The batwa are believed to have been the original dwellers of the ancient jungle and keepers of the forest who survived by hunting small game, using arrows or nets, gathering plants and fruits living in small huts constructed of leaves and tree branches.
The Ngarama cave an underground cave located beneath mt mgahinga is a living meuseum. This was once a royal residence for the former batwa king, the court of law, store for looted treasures, meeting place and a hideout during battles.
The most exciting moment is listening to the batwa sing sorrowful songs & dance songs relating to their ancient ways of living and how they cherished the forest before they were evicted from it.
You will be totally surprised after seeing them demonstrate the ancient ways of making fire by friction using sticks , the hunting and trapping techniques , their traditional pharmacy and making different utensils especially cups from bamboo .
Isn't this incredible?
While on your gorilla or Uganda safari , remember to include the batwa trail .
Looking into the eyes of Batwa gives you a clear conclusion that the batwa relationship with the forest is as deep as the woods themselves.
Currently the batwa are scattered living in the districts of kisoro, kabale, kanungu, Rukungiri and Bundibugyo .
