East African Youth Awards | Trailblazer | Tourism Innovator of the Year. ( )

The Award is finally coming home people of the Land🇺🇬

To the East African Community and everyone at EAYA, thank you for building a platform that sees the work.

To Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania — your support carried this. But Rwanda, my people - I was told where the most votes came from. You showed up in a way like you always do, I will never forget and can’t wait to be back, This one is yours too🇷🇼🍻 ( )

This award does not belong to me alone, It belongs to every story I have told, every aspiring storyteller in Uganda, every tour guide, rangers, porters that have supported me, every every mountain I have climbed, every forest I have walked into with a camera and a belief that Africa deserves to be seen properly.

And speaking of stories, you have not seen anything yet.

Yesterday I attended the launch of the Rwenzori Marathon 2026 and witnessed a major moment for Uganda’s sports and tourism scene.

The big announcement came when the marathon was upgraded to a World Athletics Label Marathon, placing Uganda alongside elite global races. This title means more than recognition, it signals to the world that we are ready to host international athletes, media, and visitors with excellence.

The impact goes beyond sport, with Label status, runners and their supporters are likely to arrive earlier and stay longer, spending on hotels, food, transport, and local experiences. The marathon will draw more tourists to Western Uganda, boost hotels and services, and push investment in better roads and amenities.

It strengthens our reputation as a destination that welcomes the world with energy and hospitality.

Most importantly, this event will support local economies - More visitors means more business for locals, more jobs in tourism and events, and more opportunities for communities beyond the big cities.

Congratulations to Uganda and the entire team🇺🇬

Rwenzori Marathon 2026

Tomorrow the Tusker Lite Mt. Rwenzori Marathon officially launches in Kampala, one of the biggest sports tourism moments on our calendar.

This morning I sat down with Amos Wekesa to align on how we collaborate through 2026 in Sport, tourism, Storytelling and Structure, We also discussed the Upcoming national Premiere of documentary - Asante sana ndugu for keeping your doors open.

The Rwenzori Marathon has grown into a Continental celebration. It pulls runners from across Africa and beyond to the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains - Hotels fill up, guides work, communities earn and Uganda gets seen differently.

Tomorrow I also release my full 2026 content calendar, clear plan, clear targets and full commitment.

See you at the launch😎

Have a blessed Sunday everyone🎇♥️

Yesterday at Speke Resort Munyonyo we joined the Uganda Tourism Association to launch the Tourism Strategic Plan for 2026 to 2030. The event brought together Industry leaders in Uganda for a shared direction.

The new plan outlines how the tourism sector will become more competitive and more inclusive over the next five years.

It sets priorities for stronger marketing to international and domestic markets, support for youth employment and skills training, improved quality standards, partnerships between public and private players, and innovation in service delivery.

These focus areas will help strengthen how Uganda positions itself in the world as the Pearl of Africa.

If you work in tourism, directly or indirectly, this plan shapes jobs, business opportunities, and how the country attracts visitors.

It also supports Uganda’s National Development Plan IV (NDP 4) and Vision 2040 goals to grow tourism as a major economic pillar and source of jobs.

Naye nekilala, akasuti ke China mukalabye wali wona😆
