Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale National Park 🐵🇺🇬
Today I had the unforgettable experience of trekking through the lush tropical rainforest of Kibale National Park, Uganda's primate capital. Home to over 1,500 chimpanzees and 13 species of primates, Kibale is world-renowned for offering one of the best chimpanzee trekking experiences in Africa. Listening to the chimps call through the forest and watching them interact in their natural habitat was truly a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.
What you need for chimpanzee trekking: • A valid chimpanzee trekking permit (booked in advance) • Minimum age: 12 years • Comfortable hiking boots • Long-sleeved shirt and trousers • Rain jacket • Insect repellent • Drinking water • A camera (without flash) • Good physical fitness and a spirit of adventure
For the safety of the chimpanzees, visitors who are unwell are not allowed to trek, and all guests must follow the ranger guides' instructions while maintaining a safe distance from the animals.
