Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Uganda

For me, trekking through the rain forest and locking eyes with an endangered mountain gorilla is the ultimate wildlife experience.

A riveting adventure such as this can be had at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to more than 450 mountain gorillas—about half of the world’s population. Gorillas have held a special place in my heart since I was a little boy who grow up from on the outskirts of Bwindi impenetrable, study and loved paging through journals on Dian Fossey and Jane Goodall and guiding primate safaris in Uganda & Rwanda . More than any animal encounter I’ve had (and I’m lucky to say there have been many!)

I’ve always known my time with the mountain gorillas will be my most treasured.

🚴‍♂️ A Journey of Discovery Cycling on the Kibale Trails |Living Ug On Safari

This past weekend, I embarked on a 32 km cycling adventure through the Kibale National Park trails, and it was truly life-changing.

Along the way, I was fortunate to spot 8 incredible primate species, reminding me why Uganda is such a biodiversity treasure and why Kibale is called the primate Capital of the World - Home to 13 primate Species.

- Red-tailed monkey
- Red colobus monkey
- Grey cheeked Mangabey
- vervet monkey
- Olive baboon

And listening to the loud ecos of the Chimpanzees was a great experience on this cycling adventure.

From the gentle rustling of leaves to the calls of the forest, this experience deepened my connection with nature.
