Let's talk about the majestic Grey Crowned Crane (Balearica regulorum), Uganda's national bird. Here are some cool facts
These birds are about 3 feet tall, with a wingspan of up to 6.5 feet. They have a striking golden crown, white cheeks, and a red throat patch.

Behavior : Grey Crowned Cranes are monogamous, often seen in pairs or small groups. They are known for their impressive dancing displays, especially during breeding season.

Habitat : They live in dry savannahs, wetlands, and grasslands near rivers and lakes in Uganda and other parts of Eastern and Southern Africa.

Diet : They're omnivores, eating plants, seeds, insects, worms, small fish, and even snakes.

They also display different behaviors in response to a dead group member and chimps move by beating their hands and feet against the tree trunks of large trees an act known as drumming.

is a vibrant traditional dance participated by ankole people both men and women who dance inmitating the movement of their long horned cattle. Furthermore, women dance with their arms prolonged above their head forming a symbol of two long horns of their cattle "inyambo" while men jump with vigor holding spears, shackle like beads on their legs as they stamp the ground hence Ekitaguro dance. Additionally, the sounds are produced using flutes, engalabi, shakers, drums and also clapping of hands.A visit to ankole people will leave you with great memories.

(Balearica regulorum) are noted for their spectacular courtship dances which involve head bobbing, hopping, jumping, wing flapping, leaps and vocalization and it is done at any time of the year. Both male and female incubate their clutch of 2- 5 eggs hatched after 28 - 30 days. Furthermore, cranes are omnivores they forage for seeds, small fish,small toads, insects and other invertebrates.
