Mist. Silence. Anticipation.
There’s a certain kind of magic that only reveals itself in the green season. In Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, the forest breathes differently — cloaked in mist, alive with the sound of dripping leaves, distant calls, and the quiet rhythm of nature undisturbed.

Gorilla trekking during this time becomes more than just an encounter. It’s a journey through layers of dense, emerald forest, where every step builds anticipation and every sound heightens your senses.

And then, in a moment that feels almost surreal, you find them.
A silverback emerging through the foliage. A family at ease in their world. Close, powerful, and profoundly moving. The green season doesn’t just change the landscape — it deepens the experience.
Raw. Atmospheric. Unforgettable. This is Bwindi at its most evocative.

For birders, this is the season.
As the rains return, so does a remarkable movement of life. Migratory species arrive in abundance, resident birds shift into breeding plumage, and the landscapes transform into a rich mosaic of wetlands, savannah, and forest edge habitats.

In Queen Elizabeth National Park, every moment becomes an opportunity — from early morning game drives filled with birdsong, to slow boat cruises along the Kazinga Channel where flocks gather in spectacular numbers.

Colours intensify. Calls grow louder. Sightings become more frequent, more diverse, and more rewarding.
Whether you’re an avid birder or simply drawn to the beauty of the wild, this is a season that offers depth, variety, and a sense of discovery at every turn.

This isn’t just birding — it’s immersion.”

The "True Wild" Experience
Kidepo is often ranked by CNN and National Geographic as one of the best parks in Africa, yet it remains one of the least visited.

Unlike the lush greenery of Western Uganda, Kidepo is rugged, semi-arid, and dominated by the massive Morungole Mountains.

Because it’s a trek to get there, you often feel like you have the entire 1,442 square kilometers to yourself. Adding rhinos to this vast, uncrowded backdrop creates a safari experience that feels like Africa 100 years ago

UWA Rescues Serval Cat from Fish Pond in Wakiso District.

‎A swift and coordinated rescue by the Problem Animal Capture Unit of the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) saved a serval cat in Seeta Village, Busukuma Division, Wakiso District. The wild cat had fallen into a fish pond belonging to Mr. Bazira Henry, prompting an urgent call for intervention.

Led by Sgt. Oswald Tumanya, the UWA team responded promptly and carefully retrieved the animal alive, ensuring its safety and minimizing stress. It was subsequently transferred to the Uganda Wildlife Conservation Education Centre (UWEC) for veterinary assessment before being released back into its natural habitat.

‎A serval is a medium-sized wild cat distinguished by its long legs, large ears, and remarkable hunting ability. Commonly found in savannah and wetland ecosystems, it plays an important role in controlling rodent populations. Though naturally shy, it may occasionally stray near communities in search of food or water.

‎Residents expressed deep appreciation for UWA’s quick response, professionalism, and dedication to protecting both people and wildlife. Such timely interventions reinforce coexistence and reflect UWA’s continued commitment to conserving Uganda’s wildlife heritage for present and future generations.

A true raptor of Kidepo’s open savannahs.
The Secretary Bird (Sagittarius serpentarius), one of the park’s most striking sightings, is famed for its long legs, dramatic crest, and unique hunting style — striding for miles across the plains before delivering a powerful strike.
