Happy Earth Day!! The Bitukura gorilla family welcomed a baby this April, and Earth Day couldn’t be more complete! This little one’s mother is "Thursday". Her baby brings the total number of individuals in the Bitukura family group to 15. This addition is a testament to the continued mountain gorilla conservation success in Uganda achieved through the support of people like you and collaboration between NGOs like us, local communities, the UGANDA WILDLIFE AUTHORITY ( UWA), other government agencies, and other stakeholders in conservation and tourism.
