Ans: Ducks are the most lucrative set of poultry as compared to Chicken considering the fact that,
-you don't need to spend on medicines and vaccines,
-secondly ducks feed mostly on green foliage and chicken remains,so you will spend less on nothing on maize brand and other feeds that eat away most of the Chicken farmers profit margin.
- The multiplication effect of ducks is 10 times more than any other poultry.A batch of 10 females ducks can give you up to 200 ducklings in a go.
- The mortality rate(Rate at which ducklings die after hatching) of Ducklings is Zero esp if you protect them from getting wet in their first one and half months.
*Qn* *Do duck Eggs have Market?*
Ans: Ducks eggs are sought after by most of the Bakeries in the country considering the fact that you will need less duck Eggs to bake the same size of cake as you would need chicken eggs.
Secondly for anyone following the trend of events in Uganda,Chicken eggs are No longer nutritious as Layer hens No longer forage.So for anyone craving for a yellow York,Duck York is the answer.
*Qn* *Why can't I find duck meat on Hotel Menu?*
Ans: Most Hotels in Kampala do not want to commit themselves to serving duck meat coz they are not sure of weekly supply of Ducks.
🤦🏼♂🤦🏼♂Recently a friend of mine turned down an order of 20 ducks per week for a full year coz he could not meet it.
As of now,Duck and Turkey meat are special orders that one has to make as we grow the Duck farming community.

Ans: We have majorly 3 types of duck breeds.
-Muscovry
-Perkin
-Khaki Campbell
The most common one that most people know is the Muscorvy.Much as Ugandans call it the local breed,it isn't.Its a Russian breed and takes its name from the city of Moscow.

Ans: 100% Duck farming if taken seriously,it will catapult youths and all Ugandans from poverty in a space maximum 3 years.The capital to start is low and affordable.
One can start out with as low as Ugx50,000-70,000 depending on where you buy your ducks.
