Getting snowed on in Uganda and using crampons to climb up an equatorial glacier was an epic experience. We were well looked after with knowledgable guides (who spotted chameleons to show us!), a chef to keep us well fed and porters doing the hard work to make our experience much more enjoyable. We would highly recommend it, just make sure your fitness is up to it, don’t rush up and risk altitude sickness and make sure you’ve packed all of your warm gear.

The 6 Days Weisman Peak trek takes Mountain Trekking along Mountain Rwenzori in Uganda located in the Western Part of Uganda.
Weismann Peak Weismann Peak is a sub- 5,000m trekking peak accessible via the Kilembe Trail. We offer it as a moderate trek in contrast to the demanding peaks of Mt Stanley and Baker
There is no glacier on Weismann and no need for ropes or technical equipment, except in very poor conditions. On a clear day, the view from the top of Weismann to the Kachope Lakes below and to Mts Stanley and Baker in the distance is marvellous.
The route to Weismann Peak fromn Kilembe and back takes 6 days. See our Weismann Peak climb itinerary. Weismann Peak can be climbed en route to Margherita/Baker allow an extra day.
Though more approachable than Margherita Peak and Mt Baker, the challenging nature of the Rwenzoris and the high levels of rainfalls mean that many will still find Weismann to be a very demanding trek, both during summit night and during the walk-in.

7 Days Rwenzori Trekking Expeditions, Rwenzori Mountains Central Circuit Trail

As its well know that Rwenzori mountaineering takes you through either of the two routes, book the to hike through the various vegetation cover up to the top of margherita peak the highest point on Uganda's famous located in south west with the nearest time being kasese.

Over 30,000 people hike rwenzori mountains using the central circuit Route on either 7 days or 8 days Rwenzori Hiking tour heading up the Bujuku valley, over the Scott Elliot Pass to the stunning Kitandara Lakes then over Fresh field Pass into the Mubuku Valley. As mentioned above, there are numerous huts along this section, most of which are quite nice. The trails are very rough and contain deep mud in many places but are quite well maintained given the weather and conditions. When you Climb or trek Rwenzori Mountains National Park, you sleep in either your own tent or in the huts constructed along both trails, although majority of the trekkers sleep in these huts. Rwenzori mountains National Park has well-constructed wooden huts built along the central circuit and Kilembe trails where most Rwenzori mountaineers sleep or spend their nights after the whole day trek.

The huts within the Rwenzori Mountains National Park are ordinarily built out of wood, which reveals the true African nature. They are comfortably designed to offer enough warmth after a whole day trek.

The huts are strategically positioned, offering impressive views of the of peaks including Mount Baker, Mount Speke, and Mount Stanley, with each room containing either a double or triple deck, which allows one person for every single form mattress.
