Last week we were honored to host 15 American guests (tourists) on a socially responsible slow travel holiday in Uganda connecting them with the local communities with the aim of promoting the local economy and to uplift wellbeing of host communities through creation of sustainable livelihoods opportunities. The guests planted different indigenous medicinal tree in Kahangi Village adjacent to Kibale National park as one of the ways of championing for environmental protection.

They were delighted by our country's rich culture, history, and the warmth of its people. We, in turn, were thrilled to meet them, making new friends and sharing smiles.

I believe that human connections are the strongest bonds where we can express our solidarity for each other.

Justice Tourism Foundation has many volunteer holiday and vacations opportunities for mission groups, families, couples or individuals who are interested in helping on community development projects while on safari or vacation holiday in the heart of Africa. You will get to meet local people, live in a village for a few days and experience local cultures, while volunteering part of your time assisting the local communities.

Our volunteer holidays and vacations are aimed at using our guests labor and funding to alleviate poverty among the local communities, protect cultures and ways of life, forests, environment, wildlife, and promote sustainable tourism that is mindful of the needs of the local people while at the same time giving the volunteer a great time and an Adventurous Safaris.

Whether you are a Construction worker, a painter, an administrator, a manager, an evangelist, a pastor or an individual with no specific skill - your time and knowledge and skill will be put to great use!

Our goal is to empower local communities through the volunteer’s skills and financial donations. We believe that local communities are in the best position to determine their needs, and we provide volunteers to help them achieve their goals. Sustainable Travel: It’s Not Just About the Environment . It also looks at tours and programs that address the impact travelers have on the communities they visit.

At Justice Tourism Foundation we offer Meaningful philanthropic-focused itineraries highlighting some of our community based social enterprises in Uganda including women’s weaving groups and village tours that support local entrepreneurs.

Our Impact Travel Tours gives our guests an opportunity to spend half of their time sightseeing and the other half visiting community-based improvement projects and participate in some community projects initiatives such as planting of trees in deforested areas, waste paper recycling, construction of Biogas digesters, construction of safe clean water sources for the local communities etc in rural Uganda in support of many United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs). COOK WITH THE LOCALS - LEARN TO MAKE SOME UGANDAN LOCAL FOOD THE TRADITIONAL WAY.

Visit a market to select your ingredients, then take a cooking class in a local home, where you’ll learn to prepare everything just right. Eat your creations after. There’s no need to miss out on some Ugandan delicious food once you return home if you learn to cook it yourself!

During a cooking class your local host and teacher will guide you through every step of preparing a typical traditional Ugandan meal. Start by visiting the market and selecting ingredients for your meal. What you buy will depend on what’s in season at the time, so the menu will always be a little different. Return to your hostess’s home, where you’ll prepare the food from scratch, learning how to cut, cook, and season the food properly. After you’ve finished creating the food, you’ll sit down to enjoy eating it together.
