Tourism is really more than just National Parks. Historical landmarks bear significant importance in the tourism sector. The Rwanda genocide bears so much historical significance not only in Rwanda, but also the entire East African region, and how it affected geopolitics of the region in the subsequent years.
1. Kigali genocide memorial museum
2. Kibeho, the sighting of the Mother Mary. It was a recognised sighting by the Catholic Church, and was a warning of the impending trouble.
3. Dian Fossey, a lady who was dedicated to studying gorillas spent her lifetime in Northern Rwanda in the areas of Volcanoes National Park. She was murdered by poachers in 1985. Her works were essential to gorilla conservation at that time, and subsequent years up to-date

All over East Africa, stories of our forefathers are shared referring to Mountains as "shy". That they have a habit of hiding themselves to avoid ridicule by the shorter hills. Such are the stories around Mt. Kenya, Kilimanjaro, Rwenzori and Elgon.

Taking pictures of this mountain showed me the logic behind such fables. The same goes for Mt. Kilimanjaro in the third frame, as I couldn't capture it from Moshi. Oldonyo Orok is visible at a distance as in the last frame.

Mt. Meru took an exception to this, being largely visible during all weather, at all points in Arusha

This hill is located on the Masai-Maraa plains in southern Kenya. It is a solid, outstanding physical feature overlooking the Namanga border post in the same district.

Known as Oldonyo Orok, It has an elevation of 2548 metres above sea level, which means it is higher than a normal hill in Kampala, and to the untrained eye, will resemble a short mountain, a baby mountain. It has a seasonal river that runs on its South Eastern end. It can be noticed by the whitish rock that resembles an unfinished road from a distance

On my first sight of this hill, I decided that this hill is hereafter named Mount Ever Based ๐Ÿ˜„
