The landscapes of the Serengeti were the main source of inspiration for Disney when creating The Lion King 🦁

And did you know that the main characters have names derived from Swahili? Simba means lion, Mufasa means king, Rafiki means friend, and Pumbaa means “the naïve one”.

Real story from the road: Geena in the Serengeti, Tanzania

“Lobo in the Serengeti is my favourite campsite in East Africa. In the early morning hours, I watched a lion hunt a zebra in the field in front of us. And while cooking dinner, lions walked right through our campsite in search of baby buffalo to hunt. A terrifying, yet at the same time, incredible experience!”

Tsingy du Bemaraha in Madagascar doesn’t feel real. It’s a maze of limestone towers, deep canyons, narrow paths and epic views.

What to do:
• Big Tsingy: the full hiking adventure (2–6 hrs), with harnesses and amazing viewpoints
• Small Tsingy: shorter, easier trails right near the village
• Tsiribihina River: take a calm 2-hour canoe trip with cave stops
• Cool off at your lodge: pool + cold drink = perfect finish 🍹

Be aware: the Tsingy is remote and seriously hot, so start your days early and plan ahead. This is Madagascar at its wildest ⛰️
