More gorilla baby news 😊

Over the weekend we welcomed another mountain gorilla 🦍 birth born to adult female Migogo of the Mucunguzi gorilla group in Rushaga - Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The new birth brings the total number of individuals in this family to 15 gorillas.

As we celebrate in our savannah parks; in Rushaga - Bwindi Impenetrable National Park 🦍 there’s exciting news too!

A new baby born to Adult Female Kabagyenyi of the Nshongi Mountain Gorilla family. The baby, mom and dad (silverback Bweza) are all in good health.

We have a new member 🦍

Here’s the first mobile image of the world’s youngest mountain gorilla born yesterday (18th July 2024) to adult female Mukidebe of the Kahungye gorilla family in Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. 📷 Tracker Elius

This new birth brings the number of individuals in this gorilla group to 16 members who continue to roam the forested hills of Rushaga under the leadership of Silverback Kasigazi. As is usually the case, the group was observed to be extremely protective of the young.

This exciting news is testament to the transformative conservation work that we are engaged in; pushing this once critically endangered species further away from extinction.
