Did you know that diet and water affect animal wastes too?
Animals like giraffes and eland produce waste in form of pellets because they conserve a lot of water. Their bodies absorb almost all the moisture from what they eat, leaving behind small, hard droppings.
But animals like elephants, hippos, and cows don’t form true pellets. Their diet and digestion leave more moisture in the waste, so it comes out softer and in larger masses.
