Murchison Falls National Park is Uganda’s largest and oldest national park, covering about 3,893 km² in the northwestern part of the country. It is famous for the spectacular Murchison Falls, where the Victoria Nile is forced through a narrow gorge before plunging about 43 meters, creating one of Africa’s most powerful waterfalls. The park was established as a national park in 1952 and is managed by the Uganda Wildlife Authority.

The park is home to an incredible variety of wildlife, including:

* Buffaloes
* Rothschild’s giraffes
* Hippos
* Nile crocodiles
* Uganda kob antelopes
