The regal okapi is a horse sized relative of the giraffe that marches through its home deep in the forests of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. First discovered in 1901, the species is threatened today by logging, mining, and the bush meat trade. Luckily our partners from the Okapi Conservation Project are using their expertise to protect them for future generations.
