The Batwa Of UGANDA-A Forgotten people.

The Batwa are believed to be among the first inhabitants of the equatorial forests of Central Africa's Great Lakes region. For generations, they lived as hunter-gatherers in the forests, especially in Uganda, in harmony with nature and wildlife.

The forest was their home, their supermarket, their pharmacy, and their sacred space.

But in 1991, when national parks such as and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park were created for conservation, the Batwa were evicted from their ancestral lands without compensation or proper resettlement.

Since then, Many Batwa communities have faced landlessnes, poverty, and social exclusion.

This short video shares their story, their life in the forest, their displacement, and their ongoing struggle for dignity and recognition.
