The 2023 Season has officially ended!

I am used to work! But this year we really pushed it a long way. I was hardly at home or at the office!

However, admin catch-up, report writing, CPAs and other "important" things need to be done!

However, I am blessed having dedicated staff who handle this!

My little son Leopold who has not seen me in months was eagerly awaiting my return from the field. Now he does not move from my side at all and has made it clear that today I must buy him chocolate that looks like milk at the supermarket!

While walking the Old East African Railway tracks, me and my two buddies found a buffalo caught in a wire snare.

The train tracks actually go right to Mombasa on the Indian Ocean. ...the two man eaters, that are still on display in a museum in Nairobi, actually spared us this time!

The African Blood Lily!
This photo was taken in Karamoja, Uganda.
Scadoxus multiflorus.
There are three recognized subspecies. Strongly toxic like other Scadoxus species, it has been used as a component of arrow poisons and fishing poisons, as well as in traditional medicine. Common names, some of which are used for other species, include blood lily, ball lily, fireball lily, blood flower, Katherine-wheel, oxtongue lily, poison root and powderpuff lily.
