Before a journey becomes an itinerary, it usually begins as a pull.

A place lures us and refuses to leave our imagination. I don’t believe that desire is random. Perhaps the place holds a lesson, a gift or a healing we do not yet know we need.

I believe our travel desires are a catalyst for our spiritual evolution. When we pay attention to where we are being called—and why—travel becomes medicine.

Bringing Travel Home

A major move, a season of change and a full calendar tending to my clients’ journeys have kept me closer to home lately.

So I did the next best thing: I purchased a piece of travel.

This Venetian scene by Josep Vayreda Canadell now hangs in my new home—a beautiful daily reminder that our connection to place does not disappear simply because we are standing still.

I have long believed that our travel desires are a catalyst for our spiritual evolution. Sometimes that desire leads to a journey. Sometimes it arrives first through a painting, a book, a conversation or a place that continues to call to us.

After a little time away, I’m looking forward to returning here—and to sharing more of the places, hotels and experiences that can restore us, expand us and move us forward.

I knew my clients would love Sicily as much as I do!
