The original movie had a working title of Chamber of Horrors, and planned to include the Mummy and more. Early film history. This is a short film from April 1906 called "the House of Ghosts," also known as La maison ensorcelée, considered to be one of the earliest movie depictions of a haunted house. The six minute film shows three travelers in the rain arriving at an abandoned house where strange things begin to happen. The movie has some interesting camera tricks and optical illusions and is fairly entertaining.
