Another great set of flights from Narita Japan to Dubai then to Frankfurt Germany.

Both flights featured the new First product, with floor to ceiling enclosure and suite door. Much nicer and spacious compared to the older product, since it is just 6 suites on the 777 vs 8 before.

I also like that you can adjust the temperature in your area individually, as well as lighting.

Food out of Narita was surprisingly not very good, except for the Caviar (had 3 huge servings). Catering out of Dubai and food at the lounge were very good.

Paid with Amex points, total of 150,000 miles, which I often can spend on just United to the mainland for Japan in domestic First or Business and not even close in offerings.

Asiana Airlines Airbus A380 First Class Suites flight from Frankfurt to Seoul Korea.

Checkin was very smooth and fast and easy walk to the Lufthansa Senators Lounge (no access to LH First Class Lounge unless flying LH).

Boarding started just 20 min before departure, yet we were able to leave pretty much on time.

Preflight drinks were just soft drinks, until the door was closed, at which time Champagne was served.

Seats are very wide and comfortable. In fact, I thought this seat in the lay flat position was much more comfortable than the Emirates Suite on their A380.

Food was very good, especially the Caviar service and the Korean food options.

Service was excellent, efficient and friendly.

Cons vs other Suite products is:

Door must manually be opened and closed
Window shades need to also be manually operated, which is hard to reach all 3 windows.
Lavatories are a bit small and more difficult to change clothes in.

Yet, still an excellent overall experience and one that I will happily repeat and recommend.

Great two flights from Narita to Dubai and then on to Frankfurt, both on the A380 double decker.

First time using the newer dedicated Emirates lounge at Narita, which was a very nice lounge.

Boarding super smooth, orderly and fast in Narita.

Dom Perignon 2009 on all flights and also Hennessy Paradis cognac and good wine selection. Great catering, especially with Caviar and great service onboard.

Comfortable seats, enclosed suite and much quieter cabin, as well as chauffeur driven car service on arrival in Frankfurt (no service at Narita, only Haneda).

Love flying Emirates, but they could improve the boarding process in Dubai and ground handling (like what Thai does in Bangkok and even Tokyo and Frankfurt).

Still with flying Emirates, mainly for the enclosed suite and seat.

Will be flying Asiana A380 Suite and Korean 747-8 Suite within a week, so will be posting those soon.

Nice stay at this Onsen. Very quiet, relaxing and great outdoor Rotenburo natural springs.

Very large Onsen area, so never feel Crowded.

Included breakfast and dinner.

Tip: Eat dinner early then go to the outdoor hot springs and you will have it all to yourself.

Review of the Frankfurt First Class Terminal and Flight.

Had the opportunity to change from the Air China flight to Lufthansa for the direct flight from FRA to HND (Tokyo Haneda).

Checked in at the First Class Terminal, which is a whole Terminal and lounge just for Lufthansa First Class International Longhaul guests. The great part is that you just hand them your passport and they take care of the rest.

The Personal Assistant takes you through their security (absolutely no lines) and then into the huge lounge, just steps away.

You can sleep in one of the sleeping rooms, shower, soak in the bathtub, eat in the restaurant (order whatever you want), and they have an awesome bar with I think 50 different Whiskeys from around the world.

When it's time to board, the assistant comes to get you, take you downstairs to formally depart the EU (no need to leave the FCT) and then driven to the plane in a Porsche or Mercedes.

You then get taken up an elevator and straight into the plane, with no waiting whatsoever and handed to the Purser in First.

Only 8 seats up front and 3 were empty, so exceptional service from German and Japanese flight attendants.

Will repeat.

The Arashiyama area of Kyoto is a must visit area and the SPG resort Kyo Suiran is a super convenient place to stay and super close walk to the Arashiyama Bamboo Forrest.

Just bear in mind the area is dead at night, with no restaurants open except at hotels, either plan on eating in the hotel or travel about 30-40 min into Kyoto.

3 Bedroom Villa with 3 bathrooms and the longest ocean facing balcony I have ever seen.

Enjoyed two flights in Emirates First, both on A380's this time.

Flight from IAD to Dubai on a very new aircraft, with a larger IFE screen and only 2 passengers.

Excellent service in the air, good food (at least for airline standards) and of course the shower you can enjoy at 40,000 ft.

Flight from Dubai to Hong Kong was almost full in First, yet still excellent service. Felt the catering from IAD was better, though, which is not good for coming out of their main base.

Pros with Emirates are the seats, enclosed suite, showers on the plane, walk up bar, excellent and attentive service,order anytime menu and the free limousine pickup and drop of at most airports they serve.

Cons compared to First Class with Thai or Lufthansa is the lack of handling on the ground. They don't have anyone to meet you to take you to the lounge or connecting gate. Also a lot of flights boarding via remote stands, which is tough on a double decker with 500+ people.

Overall still a great option for people who want to try Emirates. Still head and shoulders above any North America airline for sure.

Not looking forward to my return home flight on United, even with their "Polaris" Global First.

Enjoy Yakitori (skewered chicken) in Japan. Most awesome taste and flavor, coked over special charcoal using the very best chicken raised specially in Japan.

Hyatt Regency Tokyo (Shinjuku) Ambassador Suite.

Great location in the heart of Tokyo in Shinjuku. Super close to railways and tons to see, do and eat in the area.

Free shuttle bus to Shinjuku Station every 20 minutes.
