Charles Amodeo, B.A. M.A. Dr. Amodeo holds a B.A.

Ed.D., a successful teacher and school administrator for 33 years. He spent decades as an elementary and middle school teacher in an urban upstate New York school district. In his role as a school administrator, he began to do more traveling around the country visiting school districts looking for new, successful programs to benefit students. He has traveled to Hawaii over 22 times in the past 25

years. Between 2013 and 2016 alone he and his wife made 4 trips with family to our favorite islands. In addition, we have begun traveling to Europe and been on several cruises including the Caribbean, Tahiti and Bora Bora. in Psychology, an M.A. in Education and Doctor of Education degree in educational leadership focusing on increasing parent and community engagement in schools. Dr. Amodeo is also the co-author of two education workbooks published by the International Center for Leadership in Education, a division of Scholastic, Inc. Suomi Erin Amodeo, B.A., M.A., Ed.D., an experienced educator with a background in working with the most challenged urban populations. She served as a classroom teacher and later as a Director of Adult and Alternative Education, including incarcerated programs and an Alternative Middle and High School principal for many years. Heavily involved in the local community, she has served on many community boards, committees at the school district, community and college level and served on an advisory board to the Commissioner of Education. She has traveled to Hawaii over 22 times in the past 25 years. Between 2013 and 2016 she and her husband made 4 trips with family to our favorite islands. In addition, we have begun traveling to Europe, visiting seven countries.

This trip we will be flying to Maui and Oahu for a couple of weeks. We are particularly excited to be flying JFK to HNL and on to Maui 😊! The flight includes Lie -Flat seats on this 10 hour flight. Thank you Hawaiian Airlines!

50th Anniversary Trip

In the fall of 2018, we were fortunate enough take a trip for approximately one month to Alaska, Hawaii, and California.

In order to take this trip, we utilized 50,000 Alaska Airlines points to fly first class into Anchorage, Alaska. After visiting Anchorage for couple of days we drove to the town of Fairbanks approximately 5 hours North of Anchorage.

We stopped in Denali National Park and drove through 20 miles on gravel roads to see the sights.



When we reached Fairbanks, we checked into the Marriott Fairfield Inn to a top floor location with a great view of the city and the Tanana River. After that we drove up to near the Arctic Circle.

After a week in Alaska reply one to the island of Kauai, Hawaii. This was a trip we have made many, many times before. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves visiting the sites there.

After about a week, we moved to our favored island of Maui. Yes, we consider Maui our favorite island because it has all of the features of the rest of the Hawaiian Islands except active volcanoes. We have mountains, an oceanfront location, gorgeous scenery and friendly folks.

After leaving Hawaii which no 12 San Francisco to see the sights at the visit with some friends. Next, we drove to Northern California to the town of Mendocino, California, staying at a lovely resort known as the Heritage House. We drove nearly the entire length of California approximately 1,000 miles. I have to say it was some of the prettiest scenery I have ever seen. Along the way we mostly used our Marriott reward points brought us some wonderful hotels and arrived in San Diego located in southern California about 5 days later.

We headed home to New York State on Southwest Airlines using points we were able to transfer to Southwest from our Chase Sapphire rewards credit card.

All in all, a fabulous trip!

La Mariana Tiki Bar in Oahu https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Kd5XhnotP0 This a famous old time Tiki Bar and restaurant located in an industrial area near the airport. Several TV shows have been filmed featuring La Mariana including Hawaii 5-0. We visited here back in 2013 and were blown away by the food and entertainment. A little bit hard to find (bring a GPS), but worth finding! Looking forward to dining here again.
