Congratulations to the Algona Family YMCA on celebrating 30 years of serving our community!

The Algona Area Chamber of Commerce was pleased to join the YMCA at the June 12, 2026, Chamber Coffee as part of their weeklong anniversary celebration. For three decades, the Algona Family YMCA has provided opportunities for youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility while helping strengthen spirit, mind, and body for individuals and families throughout our community.

During the program, Interim Executive Director Jesus Soto shared how impressed he has been by the Algona community and the tremendous support shown for the YMCA. He noted that the strong commitment of local residents, businesses, volunteers, and donors is the reason the YMCA has successfully served the community for 30 years and why it has a bright future ahead.

Congratulations to the Algona Family YMCA on this remarkable milestone and thank you to everyone who has helped make the past 30 years possible. Here's to celebrating three decades of impact and looking forward to many more years of serving and strengthening our community.

🎉 What a Great Start to the 2026 Party in the Park Summer Series! 🎉

Thanks to the weather cooperating, our first Party in the Park of the summer was a fantastic evening filled with fun, laughter, community connections, and plenty of Trunks of Fun!

A sincere thank you to all of our sponsors, participants, and attendees who helped make the event such a success. We are grateful to the businesses and organizations that decorated trunks, hosted activities, shared treats and giveaways, and helped create a memorable experience for families of all ages.

A special thank you to The Happy Campers for providing the evening's live music and to our three food trucks for keeping everyone fed throughout the event.

📅 Mark your calendars for the next Party in the Park on Wednesday, July 8, from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at the Carnegie Centre lawn and Nebraska Street in Algona. The theme will be "Red, White & Rural" as we celebrate both Kossuth County's 175th Birthday and America's 250th Birthday.

Join us as we recognize the agriculture community and all things patriotic that have helped shape our county and nation. Expect an evening filled with community pride, family fun, entertainment, and a celebration of the people and traditions that continue to be the backbone of rural America.

Kick off the summer with the first Party in the Park Summer Series event from 6:00–8:00 p.m. on the Carnegie Centre lawn and Nebraska Street in Algona! This FREE, family-friendly event is designed to bring our community together for an evening of fun, laughter, and connection.

🎶 Enjoy live music from The Happy Campers on the Stagemobile. Bring your lawn chairs, relax in the shade, and enjoy a great evening of entertainment.

🚗 Tonight's Theme: TRUNKS OF FUN
Local businesses and organizations will decorate vehicle trunks and booths while offering fun games, activities, treats, prizes, and giveaways. Stroll from trunk to trunk, collect goodies, explore creative displays, and enjoy a fun evening of community connection.

For 30 years, the Algona Family YMCA has been dedicated to strengthening the community through programs that support healthy spirit, mind, and body for all. Guided by its mission of putting Christian principles into practice, the Y serves individuals and families of all ages by providing opportunities for youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.

From childcare and youth programs to swimming lessons, fitness classes, wellness opportunities, and community events, the YMCA offers a welcoming place where people can stay active, build relationships, and grow together. The Y's commitment to inclusiveness and community service has made it an important part of life in Algona for three decades.

The YMCA will celebrate its 30th anniversary throughout the week of June 6-12 with a variety of special activities, including free dirty sodas, a Family Fun Fair, a staff and donor appreciation dinner, and a Donut Dash.

As part of the celebration, the Algona Family YMCA will host the Weekly Chamber Coffee on Friday, June 12, at 9:30 a.m. Community members are invited to stop by for refreshments, networking, and an opportunity to recognize the YMCA's lasting impact on Algona while learning more about the programs and services it provides.

Congratulations and thank you to Evolve Physical Therapy for hosting this week's Chamber Coffee as they celebrated their first anniversary serving the Algona community!

Guests enjoyed learning more about Evolve's personalized approach to helping patients recover from injuries, improve mobility, and achieve their health goals. The practice continues to grow under the leadership of Audrey Finer and recently welcomed Dr. Dave Frideres, PT, DPT, to the team.

As an extra bonus to the celebration, Care Coordinator Trisha Watson was surprised with the Chamber Ambassadors' Congeniality Award. Trisha was recognized for her positive attitude, friendly personality, community involvement, and dedication to making others feel welcome.

Congratulations to the entire Evolve team on a successful first year, and special congratulations to Trisha on this well-deserved recognition!
