Meet Ryker! Ryker is coming bear hunting this fall! He may never walk, but he can still hunt! But he needs some help with equipment.

Ryker , is a 12 year old boy who Drs said would not survive past his neonatal state… Those Drs are no longer his team… He now has an amazing team of Drs who have never given up. Ryker has a genetic connective tissue disorder called Neonatal Marfan Syndrome. Although his condition is genetic neither mom nor dad have it which makes his case spontaneous. Marfan Syndrome is either inherited from mom or dad or is spontaneous as it does not skip a generation. In a short summary his body does not produce fibrillian which is glue for our connective tissue which our bodies are made up of so lacking this his eyes and lungs, muscles, ligaments and most severely his heart are affected. Due to not having this glue Ryker is now 6’ tall and is predicted to be well over 7’ tall. Ryker has had 2 open heart surgeries his most recent was 2 years ago where they replaced his Aortic valve, aortic root, ascending aorta and into the aortic arch… The aorta is the main artery that carries blood throughout your body. Ryker has osteoporosis which causes his bones to break very easily and has led to him having to be wheelchair bound. Through all of his trials and tribulations he has the best attitude and always has a positive outlook. Through his strength he has helped many people get through tough times through encouraging words and prayers. He is truly our hero.
